TV Ontario’s Steve Paikin to lead Sir John A. Macdonald walk in Kingston July 16!

Kingston: One of Canada’s leading broadcast journalists will be in Kingston next month to serve as guest leader of the Limestone City’s famed Sir John A. Macdonald walking tour, In Sir John A.’s Footsteps.
It is a great pleasure to announce that Steve Paikin, anchor and senior editor of TVO’s flagship current affairs program The Agenda with Steve Paikin, has generously agreed to lead a John A. walk in support of the Sir John A. Macdonald Bicentennial Commission,” said Arthur Milnes, Commissioner of the organization encouraging local, provincial and national activities marking the 200th birthday of Canada’s Father of Confederation in 2015. “Mr. Paikin is one of the most respected journalists in Canada and his walk will allow area residents and tourists alike the rare opportunity to meet this special Ontarian in a unique and historical setting.”
“He is also one of the strongest supporters of the Macdonald Bicentennial movement and our Commission is very much in his debt for all his personal support of our activities.”
Mr. Paikin, who will be accompanied on his July 16 walk by the talented professional actors and musicians from SALON Theatre, the Commission’s governing body, will be starting the event at 4 pm on July 16.
Only 50 tickets are available and can be purchased on-line via the Tourism Kingston website, or in person at the Visitor Information Centre at 209 Ontario Street. Tickets can also be purchased by telephone by calling the Visitor Information Centre at (613) 548-4415. They are $20 for adults and $10 for youth with proceeds going towards funding Sir John A. Macdonald Bicentennial Commission activities.
